CCTV's "News Broadcast" reported that two sets of 60,000-ton ethylene diamine production lines with independent core technologies have been successfully put into operation in Hengli New Materials Science and Technology Park, breaking the long-term monopoly of some developed countries on the production technology of this important fine chemical product.

"Where the country is in need, that's where we should focus our efforts," said Chairman Chen Jianhua in an interview. "Hengli has made technological innovations to bring scientific achievements out and into practical use, quickly achieving industrialization, reducing production costs, enhancing the competitiveness of the downstream fine chemical industry chain, and ensuring national energy security."

As an important fine chemical intermediate, ethylene diamine is widely used in the medical and agricultural industries, with a large gap in the domestic and international markets. Seizing the opportunity, Hengli Group broke through the technological barriers and collaborated with the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to successfully promote the transformation of scientific research achievements, leading industrial innovation through technological innovation and promoting the development of the fine chemical industry, thus fostering new productive forces.

It is understood that previously, the market price and production volume of ethylene diamine were dominated by foreign enterprises. In 2021, the price peaked at over 100,000 yuan per ton. After the commissioning of Hengli's ethylene diamine plant, the price dropped to 20,000 to 30,000 yuan per ton, while the product quality and output were guaranteed.
